Getting more advertising and commercial photography work is a long term and short term goal of mine, with varying levels of goals that I have set for myself. Maybe I’ll cover that another time. An indirect way to get noticed by the people who do hire for those jobs is to get published in the magazines that those people read. Chromatic Magazine is a new lifestyle and fashion magazine out of my home state of Hawaii. My friend Dave Ciano from 1013 Integrated introduced me to the lovely editor Stacey Makiya and we got to talking about how we could help each other out. They were well into the process of putting together their launch issue, and were about a week from going to print. A couple days after our conversation I got a call from Stacey that the owners, Julie Aragaki and Gavin Kobayashi, liked my style and asked if I could shoot a couple of lifestyle features for some people they were profiling for the first issue.
